Making a Difference

Harmony was selected as a student that is making a difference in her school district.  We are so proud of her and very grateful to David Gerbstadt and Mayor Tom Micozzie for their generosity and time.

Student Mayor

Harmony had an assignment in school where she had to reply to the question "What can you do to make the world a better place?"  Harmony wrote, "I can help the mayor with his problems."

So, we contacted the mayor to see how Harmony could help him.  Mayor Tom Micozzie said that he would meet with Harmony, talk to her about the current needs of the community, introduce her to a local business person and have her sit on council for an evening.  Over the next few months, he made a visit to her school and another neighboring school.  Harmony's outreach to the mayor encouraged him to do some more outreach in schools.

Science and Fashion

A chance opportunity at a fabric store lead to Harmony being asked to be a model.  The project was a concept where science and fashion meet.  It was a perfect fit for Harmony's interests. She became a part of Team Epic thanks to Nancy. She had been so interested in how the body works that she even had a placemat that had the human body on it. Then she got to be a model.  Some of the other models asked her if she wanted to be a model when she got older, but she said, "I've already done that." Her interests are certainly wide and varied.

Earth Week

Today we worked on projects for Earth day. We talked about the weather and keeping our Earth clean. We traced the word trash and colored a trash can. We also talked about how we need to put trash in the trashcan. I loved the alphabet game, playing outside and reading stories with Ms. Lynn.

Egg-cellent Work

I spent a lot of time coloring today. I love to color.  One of the things I colored was an Easter Egg. I also enjoyed playing outside, dancing, and riding bikes today.
